Volunteers of America Privacy Statement:

We respect your privacy rights. Any information gathered on this site will be kept strictly confidential. Volunteers of America will never sell, re-use, rent, loan or otherwise disclose any information on you to any third party. We will use the utmost care in protecting the sanctity and security of your information.

The guidelines at this site are applicable only to this domestic website. Information submitted solely in a business capacity is not covered by these guidelines.

Our privacy policy applies only to our website and not to sites that may be linked to ours. You should refer to those sites' own privacy policies to learn how they collect and use information about you.

Use of Information:

VOLUNTEERS OF AMERICA DOES NOT SELL, RENT, LOAN, TRADE, LEASE OR OTHERWISE TRANSFER ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION COLLECTED ON OUR SITE, INCLUDING FORMS OR E-MAIL LISTS, TO ANY THIRD PARTY. WE WILL TREAT ANY INFORMATION YOU PROVIDE AS CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION AND WILL NOT DISCLOSE IT TO ANY THIRD PARTY.

Information Collected on Our Website:

Information is collected as part of the sign up process and consists of the following information: Name, e-mail address, physical address, country, job function, and company-related information. If you become a volunteer, sponsor or contributor, we may also require you to provide a valid credit card number, expiration date and billing address.

The credit card information we collect is maintained on your behalf on a secure server and is used solely for the purpose of charging for the donation you approved.

Browser Information Collected on Our Website:

Volunteers of America's website is operated by Volunteers of America and co-located with Pointivity (http://www.Pointivity.com), which is located at 4320 La Jolla Village Drive, Suite 205, San Diego, CA 92122. Pointivity's fax number is 858.777.6915.

Volunteers of America has entered into a contract with Pointivity regarding the operation of this site. The contract specifically provides that Pointivity will be bound by Volunteers of America's privacy policy when dealing with information gathered on this site.

As part of the operation of this site by and on behalf of Volunteers of America, Pointivity maintains server logs regarding visits to our website. Most companies and websites maintain such server logs as a function of operating websites. Volunteers of America and/or Pointivity analyze such logs in an effort to constantly improve the value of the materials on the site. The logs do not contain personally identifiable information. Neither Volunteers of America, nor Pointivity makes any attempt to link the traffic information on the site with the individuals who actually visit the site. From time to time, Volunteers of America, may break down overall usage statistics according to a user's domain name, browser type, and MIME type by reading information from the browser string (information contained in every user's browser). Again, we make no efforts to associate this information with individual users.

Privacy of Our E-mail Lists:

Volunteers of America maintains e-mail lists, but only of those individuals or organizations that contact, support, contribute, or work with us. These lists include Volunteers of America's volunteers, sponsors, contributors, and interested members of the general public who have contacted Volunteers of America.

We do not sell, rent, loan, trade, or lease the addresses on our lists to anyone. In addition, we configure our list server software to refuse to divulge the e-mail addresses of our list subscribers to anyone but authorized Volunteers of America staff, including other list subscribers.

Correction and Update Policy:

Please send us an e-mail at info@voa.com to ask us for any information we may have collected about you during your visits to our site. You may also use that address to correct and/or update information that we may have on file.

Volunteers of America allows users to review the Privacy Policy before submitting any personally identifiable information. In addition, because at least one link to the Privacy Policy appears on each page of this site, it is readily accessible to users.

Delete/Deactivation Policy:

If you wish to completely delete any personal information you submitted to Volunteers of America you may do so by contacting us at delete@voa.com. We will notify you of our receipt of your request. We will use commercially reasonable efforts to functionally delete all such information from our database within five working days from the date of the receipt of your request. Please note that it may be impossible to delete a user's entry without some residual information because of backups and records of deletions.

Children:

No part of this site is directed to children. We will never knowingly collect information from users under the age of 13.

Length of Time Data Will Be Stored:

Unless you request that we delete any of the information you submitted to Volunteers of America when you registered for any electronic updates and/or newsletters we may offer, we will store such information for a period of five years. At the conclusion of that time, all such information may be automatically deleted.

Volunteers of America will use industry-standard measures to protect the security of all personal information.
